Kristina Syrchikova:

While no one is watching, I edit reality within the picture plane.
While no one is watching, I crawl into a child's crib and curl into a ball.
While no one is watching, I try to disappear into mosses and caves, merging the outer darkness with the inner.
While no one is watching, I scream, I cry, I wither.
While no one is watching, I frantically try to soothe myself, using every means available to me all at once.
While no one is watching, I hold my children, my husband, and my cat close to my heart.
While no one is watching, I bury little secrets in the ground. Yes, just like in childhood.
While no one is watching, I leap across garage roofs in my dreams.
While no one is watching, I travel through online maps.
While no one is watching, I try to decipher the language of others, to understand them.
While no one is watching, I catch and cast sunbeams, hoping for an answering ray of light.
